Arrive in Mayo
For all of our international guests, we recommend arriving in the West of Ireland on Thursday, July 3rd, the evening before the mass. The nearby town of Westport is a great place to stay, and is a 15-20 minute drive from Ballintubber Abbey.
Mass
Our ceremony will be held at Ballintubber Abbey. It’s a 15 minute drive from both Castlebar and Westport.
Photos
Right after the Mass, we’ll take photos and mill about. If you’re peckish (or thirsty), you can grab a bite to eat in Corley’s, the homey pub next to the Abbey.
Drive to Renvyle
After the ceremony, we’ll head to Renvyle House Hotel for the remainder of the weekend. The drive is ~1 hr and 15 mins. Let us know in advance if you’ll need a lift! Though it’s a bit slower, we strongly recommend driving via the scenic Doolough Valley.
Reception
Please arrive at Renvyle House Hotel for 4.30pm to settle in before dinner. We’ll have light drinks and refreshments available.
Dinner + Party
Dinner at Renvyle will be served between 6pm and 6.30pm. After dinner, we’ll have speeches, a live band, dancing and a session and singalong. We’ll have the whole hotel to ourselves, and the bar will be open all night.
Saturday: Breakfast
Breakfast is served at Renvyle until 11am. Some sleepy heads might need some help getting up in time!
Saturday: Afternoon Activities
Take off for a hike nearby, swim in the ocean, or relax by the fire in Renvyle. A local will be taking guests on a guided walk, for anybody who’d like to learn about the area. You’ll need to sort out your own lunch - some of us will eat at Renvyle, others will eat at one of the pubs in the surrounding villages.
Saturday: Dinner + Music
We’ll provide dinner in Renvyle House Hotel, followed by a session late into the night - bring your instruments.
Sunday: Breakfast
A final sendoff! Breakfast is served at Renvyle until 11am on Sunday morning.
